HTC Touch HD vs iPhone 3G vs SonyEricsson XPERIA X1

Looking as Apple making step after step to dominate the market with its upgraded iPhone 3G, companies like HTC and SonyEricsson decided to renew their device lineup and to produce some interesting iPhone rivals. And while HTC already made many attempts to compete with iPhone with its Touch lineup, many of them don’t came even close to the iPhone. They lacked iPhone's sleek user interface, its big and bright screen and many more. Now, both HTC and SonyEricsson understood that to make a powerful iPhone rival they must focus on multimedia side of their devices. So, recent products from these companies, HTC Touch HD and SonyEricsson XPERIA X1, were made with all those things in mind. And in this comparison we would like to describe and compare all of those three touchscreen smartphones: iPhone 3G vs. HTC Touch HD vs. SonyEricsson XPERIA X1.

Sony Ericsson Yari has Wii-Style Gaming

I’m loving the red detail of the Sony Ericsson Yari, but its shiny exterior is not its real selling point, nor is it the 5 megapixel camera, assisted GPS, Bluetooth, and FM Radio. What Sony Ericsson is excited about is how they imported gesture gaming technology out of Japan and meshed it together with this pretty slider phone.

Gesture technology is pretty much the same technology used in the Wii, except you’ve got a mobile phone instead of a WiiMote and a 2.5 inch screen instead of a TV. How it works: you download a Gesture technology-compatible game from the PlayNow Arena then use the accelerometer to play the game. If you’re playing a driving game you’ll have to tilt the phone to steer, if you’re boxing you’ll make smashing motions, etc. Sounds like a lot of fun, but I can imagine it’d be hard to see what’s going on with you moving the Yari about. Not to mention that you’d probably look a little ridiculous when you play a game on the bus or train.

Available late 2009 in cranberry or black.

Share life in exquisite style with Sony Ericsson's new fashion mobile phone, Jalou. Packed with unique features and encased in a beautiful facet-cut jewel form, it is a stylish addition to any handbag. Jalou will be available in selected markets Q4 2009

London, UK – August 12, 2009: Beautiful inside and out, Jalou exudes style as well as substance for the ultimate in chic communication. Sony Ericsson's latest style statement is only 73mm long – shorter than your favourite lipstick, it is easy to slip into the tiniest clutch or jacket pocket and is full of essential features. Never mind a signature necklace or oversized shades; Jalou is the perfect accessory.

Known for its expertise in design and technology, Sony Ericsson explored art, architecture and furniture trends whilst delving deep into the couture and fashion world to ensure Jalou encapsulates some of the hottest fashion trends which will emerge next year.

“Structured forms, intricate corners, hidden depths and jewel accents are set to be some of the hottest fashion trends in 2010. You can also expect to see deep and natural jewel colours on the runway next year. Jalou reflects these trends with its delicate facet-cut diamond shape design, clean and expressive lines and variety of different shine and matt finishes, that give depth to the handset,” comments Charles Hunt, Jalou head designer at Sony Ericsson. “The design team wanted the handset to reflect beauty found in nature. They looked at structure, strength and form in various crystalline jewels, which resulted in the unique shape.”

Combining beauty with cutting-edge technology, Jalou’s host of features will keep you entertained and looking fabulous. The two inch screen’s clever design means that at the touch of a button the screen becomes a mirror, offering a discreet way to make sure you look as good as your mobile phone. It is also the first Sony Ericsson to feature Walk Mate step counter, to help you stay in shape wherever you go. It also has an exclusive fashion interface which automatically updates with zodiac signs and special events throughout the year. Jalou will be available in a variety of gem inspired colours including: Deep Amethyst, Aquamarine Blue and Onyx Black.

“The new Jalou phone is all about looking great and sharing the good life,” said Linda Schori, Marketing Business Manager at Sony Ericsson. “We wanted to create a beautiful handset without compromising on style or content. It’s perfect for anyone who is sociable, loves fashion and wants to stay one step ahead of trends, because it has a fashion forward design you will want to show off. And, for such a compact handset, it has an immense amount of detail both inside and out.”

Sony Ericsson F305 Hello Kitty Edition

Well well, what have we here? Another Hello Kitty cell phone in the market? Seriously, there is more than enough of such feline-laden handsets that it gets old and fast, but somehow, there seems to be a strong enough market demand for it that the Sony Ericsson F305 Hello Kitty edition won’t be the last to hit the market. The F305 caters mainly for folks who want to get a fair bit of gaming done on their phone, featuring dedicated gaming keys, stereo speakers that are supposedly above the industry average, a Memory Stick card slot, stereo Bluetooth connectivity and an integrated FM radio. We say keep portable gaming to handheld consoles, while phones should remain as just that - communication tools.
